Newsletter Week of April 4

WCDS is closed March 29 - April 3


         Don't forget the Wax Museum is coming up on Thursday, April 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m  in the library extentson.  Students may wear their costumes and make up to school and may change after the event is over.  Also, if any student would like to help set up for the Wax Museum on Wednesday afternoon, please send in a note giving your child pernmission to stay until 3:45 p.m.   
        Thank you parents for all of your help and support!  We can’t wait to share all of our hard work with you!   Hope to see you there.

Newsletter Week of March 26




Note from the Teacher:

Here are a few reminders about our up coming projects and events:

WAX MUSEUM


  • Don't forget props are due on Monday for the Wax Museum! 
  • Also, please keep working on your costumes. Mark your calendar for the Wax Museum on Thursday, April 5, from 9:00 am -11:00 am in the library extension. 
  • Any student who would like to help set up for the Wax Museum on Wednesday afternoon, April 4, may stay until 3:45 pm. Just put a note in your child's planner if they plan to do so.
MUSIC PROGRAM


  • "Orff to the Circus" program will be held March 28 at 2:00pm in the performing arts center
  • Fifth graders, "Elephants and Lions", have been asked to wear all black clothing and tennis shoes for their performance.
POETRY PROJECT 
         
          The students will be starting a poetry project before we leave for our Easter break. This project will take place over the next couple of weeks and will focus on the process as well as the end results. The final product will be a book filled with different kinds of poetry and illustrations all written and created by the students. Please refer to the guidelines given to your child to help with this project. The poetry books will be presented at Young Author's Night on April 24. Thank you for your support.

Newsletter March 19




Note from the Teacher:

 The class has been working on their Google Slides this week. We hope to finish the slides next week by adding images them. Please continue discussing the project details with your child and begin brainstorming props and costume ideas. Props will need to be sent into school no later than March 26.  Students may wear their costumes to school the day of the Wax Museum or change the morning of. 
             Don't forget our class will be hosting an egg hunt for our preschool buddies on March 23. We are asking for donations of plastic eggs and individual pieces of wrapped candy to fill the eggs. (No hard candy or peanut products.) Please send in items by March 21. Thank you for making this a fun time for our class and their book buddies.
