Note from the Teacher:
Here are a few reminders about our Take a Trip WAX MUSEUM:

• Mark your calendar for the Take a Trip Wax Museum on Thursday, February 21, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am in the library extension. 
• Don't forget props/models are due this coming Monday. 
• Also, please keep working on your costumes. Students may wear their costumes and make up to school the day of the event and may change after it is over. 
• Students are invited to help set up for the Take a Trip Wax Museum on Wednesday afternoon, February 20, and stay until 3:45 pm. Just put a note in your child's planner if they plan to do so.

you!

Newsletter February 11

Note from the Teacher

        Our preperations for the Wax Museum are well underway.  Guidelines were shared and sent home with your child. We discussed the project details in great length.  Please refer to those guidelines often as you continue to assist your child.  Props and models are due on Monday, February 18. The Take a Trip Wax Museum event will be held on Thursday the 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m  in the library extention.  Any students who would like to help set up for the Wax Museum on that Wednesday afternoon prior may stay until 3:45 to assist only if given written permission by parents.  
      Just a reminder, the class chose to exchange valentines on Thursday  the 14^th.   Please bring a valentine to share with each person in our class.  (If your valentine includes candy, please no peanuts.)  Thank you for your support!

Note from the Teacher:
We have began discussing, The Wax Museum project, Take a Trip.  This project is an annual all time favorite of  the fifth grade.  The students have selected the topic to learn about and represent. The project consist of three main areas: research/note taking, a power point presentation, and a live display. The students will work on this project both at home and school.  A project sheet was sent home today with each student.  Please start discussing the project details with your child and begin brainstorming model, props, and costume ideas.  As always, feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
