September 20 Week at a Glance

  Note from the Teacher

 The class will soon begin learning the states in each
region of the United States.

      IOWA Assessments begin on September 20th.  Please encourage your child to get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast each day.  Be on time!  We will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.  Thank you for making plans now to have your child at school and ready for this assessment. 
    We will be meeting our preschool Book Buddies for the first time next week. We will be reading to them monthly and are looking forward to becoming their mentors and making new friends. 
    Don't for get the State Reports are due on the 21st.  Each student will present them in class.

News from Creger Cove...
I would like to say we have had a very good week and had blast at the Fun Run.  The snow cones were really yummy and delicious. We also loved the videos and learned about being living in curiosity, practicing practice, developing confidence, having humility, and learning to have endurance.  Be safe and have a great weekend!

       National GRANDPARENTS' Day
 Due to our current situation and restrictions, 
there will be no annual grandparents' celebration this year.
However, the students have made cards they can give to their grandparents.

          Our class has soared ahead with pledges this week! Thank you all!  Please take the Weekend Challenge and continue to ask for pledges/donations. We are anxious for our Charger Challenge Fun Run this Wednesday, September 15.  More details will go home next week.  A special thank you to Cade Johnson and his family for donating ALL the students'  t - shirts for the FUN RUN!
        State Report guidelines were discussed and sent home today in Friday Folders.  Everyone is excited to do research and learn more about the state they selected.  This project is due on September 21st. 
        Please encourage your child to be a smart, considerate, and respectful student. Thank you for the support! Have a great weekend!

This week has gone by quickly as we  are working towards a nice, consistent routine. We will continue to work on being prepared and organized each day. Thank you for your patience as we become comfortable with the expectations and responsibilities of fifth grade.

          Thank you for a great start! We have had a nice week learning about each other and getting settled into our class. I am happy to announce that our mini society, Creger Cove Town , has been established. The citizens are enthusiastic about their new jobs and most anxious to fulfill their responsibilities. 
         Please pay close attention to the flyers that will be sent in your child's Friday folder over the next few weeks.
