Mrs. Creger's Fifth Grade News
Note from the Teacher
This week has gone by quickly as we have fallen into a nice, consistent routine. We will continue to work on being prepared and organized each day. Thank you for your patience as we become comfortable with the expectations and responsibilities of fifth grade.
Also, a state project will be assigned. Please look for those guidelines and remember the project will be due on Friday, September 6.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Math:  Topic 2: Adding and Subtracting Whole Numbers & Decimals
Reading: Weekly Concept: Trial and Error
Genre: Realistic Fiction
Skills: vocabulary; problem and solution; idioms *test Thursday
Spelling: Words with long vowel sounds*test Friday
Language Arts:  subjects/predicates; compound subjects/predicates sentences; commas and conjunctions *test Friday
Writing- using descriptive/strong words
Social Studies:  Overview chapter *test Thursday

Reminders
Please look over your child's graded work in Friday folders,  sign, and return on Monday. 
Also, we are in need of  small items to furnish our town store.  As always, please help us stay healthy by keeping your child home if he/she are sick.

I am excitied to work with the fine citizens in fifth grade as their new mayor.
