       Welcome GRANDPARENTS! We can't wait to visit with our grandparents on Monday the 10th.

Note from the Teacher
     We are excited to be using Chromebooks this year. Each student has received a Chromebook device to use during the school year. Thank you for reviewing the contract agreement with your child. As part of our weekly instruction, the  students began learning Chromebook rules and procedures. We are anxious to use this device in our daily instruction and develop new skills. Just a reminder that the fifth grade will use their Chromebooks during school hours only. They are not allowed to carry them home. 
        Please encourage your child to be a smart, considerate, and respectful student. Thank you for the support! Have a safe Labor Day weekend!

Note from the Teacher
This week has gone by quickly as we have fallen into a nice, consistent routine. We will continue to work on being prepared and organized each day. Thank you for your patience as we become comfortable with the expectations and responsibilities of fifth grade.
Also, a state project was assigned this week. Please look for those guidelines and remember the project is due on Thursday, August 30.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Note from the Teacher

      Thank you for a great start! We have had nice week learning about each other and getting settled into our class. I am happy to announce that our mini society, Dusty's Divots, has been established. The citizens are enthusiastic about their new jobs and most anxious to fulfill their responsibilities.

       Please pay close attention to the flyers  in your child's Friday folder.  There is important imformation concerning acadmic websites, usernames, and passwords. Also, check out 
the WCDS school t-shirt form.  I am excited to have the chance to purchase a new shirt to show school spirit and wear it on special days such as field trips, field day, etc. 
If have any questions or concerns,  just let me know.

Note from the Teacher
            Welcome to the fifth grade! We are off to a good start. Thank you parents for all of your help!  The kids are enthusiastic and eager to tackle the new school year!  I, too, am excited and look forward to the work and growth we will all accomplish as a class.

            As the school year begins, I want to remind all parents during drop off and pick up times to drive slowly, stay in your car, pay attention to the teachers while loading students, and please DO NOT park or drive on the grassy areas. Thank you for your support, your child's safety is most important.
           One final note, please pay special attention to the Chromebook agreement information as well as Power School student login paperwork found in your child's Friday folder.

Welcome Back! 2018-2019

Welcome to the fifth grade! I hope you have had a fun-filled summer and are excited about the new school year.  We have a big year ahead of us and will be learning many new and exciting things.

Here are some important reminders:
  • Monday, August 6, Meet Your Teacher from 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.                            Open House will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the gym.
  • Wednesday, August 8, is the first day of school beginning at 8:00 a.m.
  • Don’t forget the first day of school will be a full day. Bring a snack to enjoy!
