Neswletter Week of April 29

Note from the Teacher:
      It is hard to believe we have a little less than four weeks of school left. We will continue to focus on the academics along will finishing up our last novel reading of the year, Johnny Tremain.
     Also, don't forget to check out our poetry books at Young Author’s Night on April 30 at 6:20pm. The kids did a wonderful job preparing their books!

Newsletter Week of April 24

WCDS is closed April 19 - April 23
Classes resume on April 24. 

 Just a few reminders for when we return:
      Don't forget we will be attending Meymandi Concert Hall on Thursday the 25 to hear the NC Symphony in Concert.  We will be leaving at 8:15 am and will return by the end of the school day.  Please have your child bring a snack and $10.00 for lunch. Also, dress appropiately for the day. 
         Also, Young Author's Night is fast approching.  The class has been diligently working on their poetry and illustrations.  We can’t wait to share all of our hard work with you! Hope to see you there!

Note from the Teacher:
Image result for clip art read ing books    Wow, it is hard to believe our school year is quickly coming to an end. We will continue to learn, study, and work hard until the last day school. Thank you for  supporting your child with their homework, assignments, and final projects. We want to finish the year out strong! 
        We hope to finish illustrating our barebooks next week and are excited to present them at Young Author's Night on April 29.
         Don't forget to send in eggs and candy pieces to fill the eggs. We can't wait to spend time with our preschool book buddies as they hunt for eggs!

Newsletter Week of April 8

 April Showers Bring May Flowers

Note from the Teacher

Another long but productive week!
The students have been working hard on their poetry books and look forward finishing them soon. Please remember to send in colored plastic eggs and candy to fill them. The fifth graders are anxious to hide the eggs for their bookbuddies. Lastly, don't forget our field trip to Tryon Palace is this Tuesday.
Just a few reminders:
  • Be on time! We will leave school by 8:15am.
  • Wear WCDS t-shirts or colors.
  • Bring a snack for the ride down.
  • Send money if your child is interested in shopping at the gift shop.
