Week of October 23 Newsletter

Note from the Teacher

Just a few reminders about the next few events coming up:
  • I.O.W.A Assessments  continue. Please come rested, well feed, and on time. 
  • Spook Parade will begin at 8:30. Students may wear their costumes to school for the Spook Parade on the 31st. They may also bring a change of clothes for the rest of the day. Please, NO  pretend weapons with costumes. 
  • Trunk or Treat activity will follow the Spook Parade.

  • Tutoring Sessions are held each Wednesday after school from 3:10-3:45. If your child is interested in staying, please write a note each week in their weekly planner indicating your has permission for them to stay.
Math: Topic 5 Dividing 2-digit Divisors
Reading: Essential Question - What Do Good Problem Solvers Do?
Weekly Concept - Reaching a Compromise
Skills – problem and solutions; context clues: definitions and restatements; reread
Language: Kinds of Nouns
Spelling: Variant Vowels /o/; diphthongs /ou/, /oi/
Indian in the Cupboard projects due on Oct. 31st.
Science: Cells to Organ Systems * test Tuesday
Human Body Systems
Social Studies:  Southeast Region capitals test  Tuesday Oct. 24                                                        All 50 states and capitals *test Wednesday Nov. 1st

We have had a great week! We are almost done with testing.
Tutoring sessions have started and are held each Wednesday
from 3:10 - 3:45. The students that have been staying are enjoying 
it  and sharping their skills.
