Newsletter Week of October 15

Note from the Teacher

Just a few reminders about the next activities and events coming up:
  • Indian in the Cupboard project guidelines sent home today.
  • Book Buddy Time  will start this month. Please bring an age appropriate book to share with your buddy.
  • Spook Parade will begin at 8:30. Students may wear their costumes to school for the Spook Parade on the 31st. They may also bring a change of clothes for the rest of the day. Please, NO  pretend weapons with costumes. 
  • Trunk or Treat activity will follow the Spook Parade.

  • Tutoring Sessions will be held each Tuesday after school from 3:10-3:45.  If your child is interested in staying, please write a note each week in their daily planner indicating your child has permission to stay.
Math: Topic 4  Dividing 1- Digit Divisors
Reading: Weekly Concept - Reaching a Compromise
Essential Question - What Do Good Problem Solvers Do?
Genre - Expository
Skills - problem and solutions; context clues: definitions and restatements; reread
Language: Kinds of Nouns
Spelling: Variant Vowels /o/; diphthongs /ou/, /oi/
Indian in the Cupboard projects due on Oct. 30.
Science: Human Body Systems
Social Studies:  Northeast capitals test on Tuesday, Southeast capitals test on Thursday
All 50 states and capitals *test Wednesday, October 24.
